DANVERS-Danvers HIGH SCHOOL Falcon Marching Band will be traveling to Honolulu for this month's featured on a ceremony and parade marking the 70th anniversary of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor.
the 140-Member band will be playing patriotic songs, marches, and swing music popular in the era of World War II during the performance on November 22 on the USS Missouri battleship that Japan surrendered to end the war. The Band will also laid wreaths at the USS Arizona memorial, resting place of the ship was sunk on December 7, 1941, bombing.
The day after Thanksgiving, the band will March in the Waikiki Holiday Parade, the 2-mile route along the coast of Pearl Harbor survivors and salutes veterans.
Falcons are one of the 12 HIGH SCHOOL bands from the continental United States are invited to take part in the ceremony, a precursor to the official birthday on December 7. Another Band from Hawaii and around the world will also take part, Parsons said.
